MC Quality Assurance in Cotton Yarn Manufacturing: Insights from Indian Industry Leaders

Aren't the cotton apparel we use so soothing and appeasing to our skin. Little do we know that these cotton fabrics have to go through extensive procedure to reach us. The quality check of cotton yarn is a very crucial step in cotton yarn manufacturing. The best quality approved yarns are then selected for the proceeding in the textile industry.

Today we, the SD Polytech, a leading yarn manufacturers group in India are dropping their insights on quality assurance of cotton yarn. Underpin are several methods adopted by cotton yarn manufacturer in India to keep the quality in check.

Pest Resistant Cotton:

The foremost step in any apparel processing is to check the plant quality. In cotton yarn processing the top notch quality of cotton is selected. Usually the pest free cotton is best as they are not destroyed from the attack of pests. BT cotton, a very famous example of Genetically Modified  Crop, is the premium quality cotton as it repels the attack of pests.

Material selection and Processing:

Once the pest resistant cotton is approved SD Polytech the next stage of selection includes the selection of material. Usually the long, thin, straight and untangled  cotton fibers are chosen. As these long and thin fibers are easier to spin, weave, twist and wind. On the other hand the thick, clustered and tangled are either not processed further or they are sorted in a usable manner.

During processing the twisting and winding of yarn are deeply taken care of as the processing varies from fabric demands and blending.

Labour and Machinery:

The cotton yarn manufacturing involves a lot of processes and labor. Depending on the type of blend the cotton processing varies. For some the processing by human labor and for  some it is better done in bulk using heavy machinery and technology. For instance Polyester cotton knitted yarns, they are a blend of polyester or cotton fibers. Some fabrics are hand woven, while some are made in bulk in automated machinery. So depending upon the type of apparel and design required the kind of  processing varies. In this manner the absolute quality maintains the uniqueness of fabrics.

Primarily these are various ways in which the cotton yarn quality is assured and other ways include: regular servicing of machinery, cotton seed quality check, teaching the required skills to craftsmen and taking reviews from customers and dealers.
